How To Make A Scavenger Hunt With Clues

Scavenger hunts are a lot of fun for kids and adults alike. But creating them might seem like a difficult task; after all, where will you come up with ideas for your hunt? Luckily it’s not as daunting as it might seem and once you get started you’ll start to find out not only how easy it can be, but fun as well!

The core of any scavenger hunt are the riddles and clues. Making a scavenger hunt with good clues will result in a game that people thoroughly enjoy. So first, decide just where you wish to hold your scavenger hunt. It could be in the house, in the backyard, or even at the local park.

Next, make a list of  items that the participants will find at each clue location. These items can have a theme, or just be random objects. A good treasure hunt will also motivate people by having a quality prize or prizes for the winner – so ensure that you think of that too.

Depending upon the age of the scavenger hunters, riddles are often one of the best ways to move people between each clue. A short riddle that subtly hints at the location of the next item will provide a challenge – where kids are involved, keep it simple, but if adults are playing then making them as challenging as possible will keep the hunt going for a decent amount of time!

If creating your own scavenger hunt with clues from scratch still seems daunting, consider downloading or purchasing pre-made clues and riddles online to help you out.
